News Bailiwick's Hit Staging of Parade Moves to Chicago's Mercury Theater June 4-July 18 The resident Chicago premiere of the Tony Award-winning musical, Parade, will transfer from Bailiwick Repertory Theatre's digs to the Mercury Theater for a summer run.

The non-Equity staging directed by David Zak has been a hot seller. Previews begin at the Mercury June 4 toward a June 6 opening. Performances continue to July 18.

The creative team and cast of 30 remain the same.

Parade, with score by Jason Robert Brown and book by Alfred Uhry, tells the true story of Leo Frank's wrongful arrest for the murder of a girl near Atlanta, GA, in 1913. His wife rises to be his greatest champion in the tale of racism, anti-Semitism and Civil War wounds healed and still-festering.

Amy Arbizzani and Nicholas Foster star as Lucille and Leo Frank. Other featured players include Jamie Axtell, Sean Reid, Steve Kimbrough, Amber Robbin, Alanda Coon and Brannen Daugherty, with David Adamick, Julie Burt, Steve Best, Kate Garassino, Gina Capetta, David Belew Russ Rainear and Randolph Johnson.  Making their Bailiwick debuts are James Adkinson, Lili-Anne Brown, Ronnie Duncan, Joel Ewing, Gerald Frantzen, Jacob Hoffman, Stephanie Jacobs, Nate Johnson, Melanie LaLone, Gerald Richardson, Jeremy Rill, Emily Spokas, and Stan Q. Wash.

Musical director is Alan Bukowiecki. The Bailiwick run ended May 29. Critics embraced the show and the staging was Jeff-recommended. Mercury Theater is at 3745 N. Southport in Chicago.

Parade's performance schedule is Wednesday and Thursdays at 7:30 PM ($30), Fridays at 7:30 PM ($35), Saturdays at 5 PM and 8:30 PM ($40) and Sundays at 2:30 PM ($40). Preview performances for June 4 and 5 are $20.
