News Baldwin Picks "Bachelor No. 2" for Upcoming Film Appearance Stage and screen star Alec Baldwin will join the cast of the upcoming Lionsgate film "Bachelor No. 2," starring Dane Cook and Kate Hudson, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Howard Deutch ("The Replacements," "Pretty in Pink") is slated to direct the film penned by Jordan Cahan. Filming will begin in Boston next week, reports the trade mag. The story "centers on Tank (Cook), who is hired to take girls on horrible dates so they crawl back to the boyfriends they dumped. But he struggles with his libido and the meaning of friendship when his best pal needs his help with the girl who dumped him."

Baldwin — a current Emmy Award nominee for "30 Rock" — was last seen on the Off-Broadway stage in Entertaining Mr. Sloane. The screen star has also made room for stage turns in Twentieth Century, Loot, Trumbo, Serious Money, the benefit Short Talks on the Universe and the 1992 revival of A Streetcar Named Desire — for which he was Tony Award-nominated. The Long Island native is known for such films as "State and Main," "Glengarry Glen Ross," "Prelude to a Kiss" (reprising his Off-Broadway role), "The Cooler," "The Aviator," "The Departed" and "Beetlejuice," among others.
