News Ballyhoo Will Get L.A. Production After All, Oct. 11 at Canon LOS ANGELES -- Following on the heels of the recent cancellation of the national tour of Alfred Uhry's Tony-winning The Last Night of Ballyhoo, which was supposed to play the Wilshire Theatre in September, came the news that producers Joan Stein and Susan Dietz have obtained L.A. rights to the play and will open a local production at the Canon Theatre Oct. 11.

LOS ANGELES -- Following on the heels of the recent cancellation of the national tour of Alfred Uhry's Tony-winning The Last Night of Ballyhoo, which was supposed to play the Wilshire Theatre in September, came the news that producers Joan Stein and Susan Dietz have obtained L.A. rights to the play and will open a local production at the Canon Theatre Oct. 11. This will be the play's first performance outside New York, not counting the original 1996 production in Atlanta.

Ron Lagomarsino will reprise his Broadway direction of Ballyhoo, with a cast to be announced.

The Canon Theatre is a mid-sized venue in Beverly Hills. All seats are $25. Call (310) 859-2830.
