The upcoming season will kick off Sept. 15 with Anton Chekhov's The Three Sisters. Centerstage Artistic Director Irene Lewis will helm the classic drama about the Ranevsky family. Three Sisters will play through Oct. 9 at the Head Theater.

Ariel Dorfman's Death and the Maiden will follow, playing the Pearlstone Theatre. The psychological thriller, which played Broadway's Brooks Atkinson in 1992, will run Oct. 26-Nov. 26.

Centerstage's musical offering for the season will be Rodgers and Hart's The Boys From Syracuse, which is loosely based on Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors. David Schweizer will direct the Dec. 8, 2006-Jan. 14, 2007, run in the Pearlstone. Syracuse boasts such Rodgers and Hart gems as "Sing for Your Supper," "This Can't Be Love" and "Falling in Love with Love."

The Obie-Award winning play Trouble in Mind will be presented Feb. 2-March 4 at the Pearlstone. Alice Childress' play depicts "the struggles of a white director and a mixed cast rehearsing an anti-lynching play for Broadway in 1957." Irene Lewis directs.

Eugene O'Neill's Ah, Wilderness will play the Pearlstone beginning March 16. This coming-of-age tale about 16-year-old Richard Miller will run through April 15. The final offering of the season will be a new play to be announced shortly. Artistic Director Lewis, according to a press statement, is considering "several options dealing with the African-American experience." The season's last show will run in the Head Theater April 27-June 3.
