Tony winners Barbara Cook and Ben Vereen are among the actor-singers who will perform in concert this season at the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts.

Cook, who is currently reprising her Mostly Sondheim concert at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theatre, will take to the Brooklyn Center stage on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 8 PM. This marks Cook's Brooklyn Center debut. Vereen, now co-starring opposite Judd Hirsch in the revival of I'm Not Rappaport at the Booth Theatre, will make his Brooklyn Center debut on Saturday, March 15, 2003, also at 8 PM. Comedian Richard Lewis is also among the performers taking part in this "Sensational Saturdays" series. Lewis will bring his neurotic stand-up routine to the Brooklyn Center on Saturday, April 26.

Cheered for her beautiful soprano voice, Cook received critical hosannas this season for her Stephen Sondheim tribute Mostly Sondheim, which was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event. The Tony winning performer who has starred on Broadway in Flahooley, Candide, The Gay Life, The Music Man and She Loves Me is also an internationally renowned concert artist. Her numerous recordings are available on CD, including her Sondheim evening on DRG Records.

A star of stage and screen, Ben Vereen made his Broadway debut in Jesus Christ Superstar, earning a Tony Award nomination for his performance. He nabbed the Tony for his work in Bob Fosse's production of Pippin and has also starred on Broadway in Grind, Jelly's Last Jam and Fosse. I'm Not Rappaport marks Vereen's non musical Broadway debut.
