News Barbour and Rasche Join Cast of MTC’s Last Dance James Barbour and David Rasche have joined the cast of Last Dance, the new Marsha Norman play, which will begin performances at Manhattan Theatre Club’s Stage II May 6.

A spokesperson for the production confirmed the casting of the world premiere of the new play, which stars the previously announced JoBeth Williams. Marsha Norman — best known for her Pulitzer Prize-winning opus ’night, Mother — has focused her new play on a character named Charlotte (Williams), a Southern-American poet living in the South of France. Lynne Meadow will direct the play, which officially opens June 3 and runs through July 6. James Barbour starred as Rochester in the Broadway musical Jane Eyre. His other Broadway credits include Beauty and the Beast, Carousel and Cyrano—The Musical. David Rasche’s Main Stem credits include Getting and Spending, Speed-the-Plow, Lunch Hour and The Shadow Box.
