The Barbra Streisand Channel, which originally ran on SiriusXM in September 2014, features music spanning Streisand’s award-winning career, from her 1963 debut through her new album, Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway, which was released August 26. Streisand, according to press notes, will “give listeners exclusive commentary and reflection on the rare tribute to a lifetime of song."
The channel, which will include selections from Streisand's live and studio recordings, will also feature an exclusive Town Hall special with the entertainment icon. As previously reported, Streisand sat down for a Q&A session with a select group of SiriusXM listeners at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre, where the singing actress originally starred in Funny Girl. The event with Streisand, hosted by Patrick Wilson, will air September 7 at 5 PM ET on The Barbra Streisand Channel.
The limited-run channel launches September 6 at 5 PM ET and will run through October 3, via satellite on channel 18 and through the SiriusXM app on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as online at siriusxm.com.
