Streisand made a rare television appearance on the new afternoon talk show "Katie" and spoke of her admiration for Gould's voice and musicality. Gould has recently begun recording music and Streisand was so taken with what she heard, she told Couric, "I said, 'Jason, I have to sing with you...' He's never performed live."
Couric then shared the news that Gould would join his mother for the upcoming Back to Brooklyn concerts at the Barclays Center on Oct. 11 and Oct. 13.
Gould's self-titled, five-track EP will be released Oct. 9. He covers such songs as "How Deep Is the Ocean" and "Nature Boy" on the album.
In a previous statement Streisand said, "Brooklyn to me means the Loew’s Kings, Erasmus, the Yeshiva I went to, the Dodgers, Prospect Park, great Chinese food. I’m so glad I came from Brooklyn — it's down to earth. I guess you can come home again.”
