Barnette and Letchworth Will Celebrate A Tuna Christmas! for Gallery Players

News   Barnette and Letchworth Will Celebrate A Tuna Christmas! for Gallery Players
Justin Barnette and Brian Letchworth will head the cast of the Gallery Players' production of A Tuna Christmas!, which will begin its holiday engagement Dec. 6.

Andrew K. Russell directs Barnette and Letchworth, who will depict over 20 of the unique characters from the beloved Texas town. A Tuna Christmas! will run through Dec. 21 at the Brooklyn venue.

"I remembered our local theater back in Indiana doing all the Tuna plays and thought to myself, 'why not return to this tiny Texas town for a spell?'" said director Russell in a statement. "I forgot how funny the plays were and then re-read this script and couldn't stop myself from laughing out loud. The challenge of directing two actors playing over 20 roles was also appealing."

Press notes for the sequel to Greater Tuna, created by Ed Howard, Joe Sears and Jaston Williams, read, "It's Christmas in the third smallest town in Texas. Radio station OKKK news personalities Thurston Wheelis and Arles Struvie report on various Yuletide activities, including hot competition in the annual lawn display contest. In other news, the voracious Joe Bob Lipsey's production of A Christmas Carol is jeopardized by unpaid electric bills."

A Tuna Christmas! has set design by Edward Morris, costume design by Dawn Luna, lighting design by Maureen Hanratty and sound design by Mat Bussler.
