News Barrett, Blackhurst, Graae and Mayes to Salute Herman on Cabaret Convention at Sea The Mabel Mercer Foundation's third annual Cabaret Convention at Sea — departing March 4 from Los Angeles, CA — will feature three concerts that pay tribute to Tony Award-winning composer Jerry Herman.

Herman will be present for the festivities, which celebrate his 75th birthday. Those scheduled to take part in the at-sea concerts include Brent Barrett, Klea Blackhurst, Jason Graae and Sally Mayes. The cruise ship, the Crystal Symphony, departs March 4, spends March 5 cruising the Pacific Ocean, and then docks in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, March 6. March 7 will feature a stop in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and March 8 will allow travelers a chance to explore Mazatlan, Mexico. March 9 and 10 will be spent sailing along the Pacific Ocean. The ship returns to Los Angeles March 11.

One of the theatre's most celebrated composers, Jerry Herman has written the scores for such Broadway musicals as Milk and Honey; Hello, Dolly!; Mame; Dear World; Mack & Mabel; The Grand Tour and La Cage aux Folles. He also contributed songs to A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine, and revues of his work include Jerry's Girls and An Evening with Jerry Herman. The songwriter won Tony Awards for his scores for Hello, Dolly! and La Cage aux Folles.
