News Barrington's Summer Season to Feature Bohon, Craig, Dixon, Stanley, Gilpin and Naughton Casting has been announced for the summer MainStage season at the Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield, MA.

The season, which will be presented in the company's newly renovated 520-seat theatre, will include West Side Story (June 13-July 14), Black Comedy (July 19-Aug. 4) and Uncle Vanya (Aug. 9-26).

West Side Story, which features a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim — all based on a Jerome Robbins concept — will feature Julie Craig as Maria, Chris Peluso as Tony, Jacqueline Colmer as Anita, Freddy Ramirez as Bernardo, Justin Bohon as Riff, Beth Crandall as Anybodys, Gordon Stanley as Doc and Dale Radunz as Lt Schrank. The ensemble will comprise Xavier Cano, Nicky Cooper, Billy Fagen, Matt Gibson, Melinda Hall, Spencer Howard, Joey Calveri, Jamie Markovich, Michael McGurk, Michael Mindlin, Kristin Piro, John Raterman, Rebecca Riker, Manuel Santos, Kiira Schmidt and Vanessa Van Vrancken.

Barrington artistic director Julianne Boyd will helm the production, which will feature choreography by Joshua Bergasse and musical direction by Darren R. Cohen.

The design team includes Luke Cantarella (scenery), Anne Kennedy (costumes), Scott Pinkney (lighting) and Randy Hansen (sound).

Opening night is June 17 at 5 PM. Lou Jacob will direct Peter Shaffer's Black Comedy, which will officially open July 22 at 5 PM. The cast will feature Brian Avers as Brindsley Miller, Audra Blaser as Carol Melkett, Beth Dixon as Miss Furnival, Gerry Bamman as Colonel Melkett, Mark H. Dold as Harold Gorringe, Gordon Stanley as Schuppanzigh and Ginifer King as Clea.

The design team comprises Karl Eigsti (scenery), Ilona Smogyi (costumes), and Scott Pinkney (lighting).

The summer season will conclude with Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya. Julianne Boyd will direct the production, which features a translation by Paul Schmidt. Opening night is Aug. 12 at 5 PM.

The cast will feature Jack Gilpin as Vanya, Keira Naughton as Sonya, Heidi Armbruster as Yelena, Mark Montgomery as Astrov, Patricia Conolly as Marina, Kenneth Tigar as the Professor and Robert Zukerman as Telegin. The designers are Karl Eigsti (scenery), Elizabeth Flauto (costumes) and Scott Pinkney (lighting).
