The Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor, NY, presents the world premiere of Heaven & Earth -- a specially commissioned new play by Joe Pintauro, July 30-Aug. 31.

Heaven & Earth, inspired by the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Steve Wick's book, is Mr. Pintauro's third play produced at Bay Street. In 1995, Pintauro co-wrote By the Sea, By the Sea, By the Beautiful Sea for Bay Street, with Terrence McNally, and Lanford Wilson. His other plays: Raft of the Medusa, Beside Herself, Murder by Chocolate, Snow Orchid, and The Dead Boy.

Heaven is inspired by the rich history of one of our country's oldest communities, the farmers of North Fork. Currently, these generations-old farming families are being threatened by a changing economy that threatens to alter forever their way of life. Heaven & Earth is a tribute to this grass-roots issue, relevant not only to the citizens of the East End of Long Island, but across the country.

Featured in the cast of Heaven are: Olivia Birkelund, Fred Burell (Bwy: On Golden Pond); Talmadge Lowe, Roger Robinson (Bway: Seven Guitars, Tony nomination),Sloane Shelton and John Wojda (Bwy: Present Laughter).

Performances run from July 30-Aug. 31. For tickets call (516) 725-9500. For more information refer to the Bay Street Theatre in the regional theatre section of Playbill On-Line. --By Sean McGrath
