The Academy Award-nominated "Beauty and the Beast" will make its network debut on ABC-TV at 7 PM ET on Sunday, Nov. 10.

The animated 1991 film, which features an Oscar-winning score by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, will be shown as part of ABC's "Wonderful World of Disney" series. Featuring the voices of Paige O'Hara, Robby Benson, Richard White, Jerry Orbach, David Ogden Stiers and Angela Lansbury, the classic tale concerns the story of Belle, who sets out to find her father but is taken prisoner by a beast (actually a prince who has been transformed into a hideous creature) inhabiting an old castle. Song titles include "Beauty and the Beast," "Belle," "Gaston" and "Be Our Guest."

The stage version of the film — featuring additional songs written by Menken and Evita lyricist Tim Rice — bowed on Broadway in 1994 at the Palace Theatre. The book was written by the author of the original screenplay, Linda Woolverton, and the musical was directed by Robert Jess Roth.

Beauty and the Beast plays the Lunt-Fontanne (205 W. 46th Street), and tickets may be purchased at the theatre's box office or by calling (212) 307-4747.
