Tansley replaces Christy Carlson Romano — of "Kim Possible" and "Even Stevens" fame — in the role of Belle. Romano played her final performance Sept. 12. Tansley joins a company that features Steve Blanchard as the Beast, Grant Norman as Gaston, Peter Flynn as Lumiere, Alma Cuervo as Mrs. Potts, Jeff Brooks as Cogsworth, Jamie Ross as Maurice, Pam Klinger as Babette, Marguerite Willbanks as Madame de la Grande Bouche, Aldrin Gonzalez as Lefou and Matthew Gumley and Matthew Gumley, who alternate in the role of Chip.

Brooke Tansley made her Broadway debut in Hairspray. Her regional credits include roles in Smokey Joe's Cafe, At Wit's End, Peter Pan, In Service and The Nutcracker.

Featuring a score by Alan Menken, Tim Rice and the late Howard Ashman, Beauty and the Beast boasts a book by the author of the original screenplay, Linda Woolverton; the musical was directed by Robert Jess Roth. Beauty opened at the Palace Theatre April 18, 1994, and now plays the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. It is currently the sixth longest-running musical in Broadway history.
