News Bebe Neuwirth and Dael Orlandersmith Set for League of Professional Theatre Women Events; March on Broadway, Too The League of Professional Theatre Women will present four events that celebrate women working in theatre in May.

The League's Oral History sessions will continue with award-winning actress Bebe Neuwirth May 5 at 6 PM. Patrick Pacheco will interview the two-time Tony Award winner, who has performed in The Addams Family, Chicago, Damn Yankees and Sweet Charity, at the Bruno Walter Auditorium of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, which is located at 65th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. Admission is free, and seats are on a first-come, first-seated basis.

Dael Orlandersmith will perform a staged reading of her newest piece, Forever, at HERE May 6 at 6:30 PM. This one-night-only event is a benefit performance for the League. Orlandersmith is a Pulitzer Prize finalist and Obie, Guggenheim and PEN Award-winning playwright and performer. HERE is located at 145 6th Avenue. Women Stage the World, an advocacy march through Times Square, will be held May 8. The suffragette-inspired parade will include 200 women advocating for equal representation in theatre, dressed in costumes in honor of famous women, and will feature an advocacy anthem by Sheilah Rae. The panel Theatre and Other Careers: Harness The Power will be held May 12 at 6 PM at Theater Lab (357 West 36th Street, 3rd Floor). Panelists include Stephanie Klapper, Stephanie Klapper Casting; Mahayana Landowne, theatre director; Dorothy Leeds, president of Organizational Technologies Inc. and Theatre for Learning; Lisa Tracy Taber, Exec|Comm, faculty manager, client actor coordinator; Nancy Sondag, MA, RDT/BCT, LCAT, CDP, director of Therapeutic Recreation at Menorah Center; Lisa Dennett, I.D.E.A.S., founder, actress and teaching artist.
