Both productions will be directed by Tucker, Bedlam's artistic director, who is also part of the ten actor repertory company of both shows. Last season's Hamlet and St. Joan received critical acclaim for their intimacy, actor-driven storytelling and flexible use of space.
Bedlam bills the repertory as follows, "The Seagull and Sense & Sensibility are highly theatrical, immersive productions of classic store by one of America's most innovative downtown theatre companies."
The cast will feature Laura Baranik, Nigel Gore, Kate Hamill, Andrus Nichols, Jason O’Connell, John Russell, Vaishnavi Sharma, Samantha Steinmetz, Eric Tucker and Stephan Wolfert.
The creative team includes John McDermott (set design), Les Dickert (lighting design), Angela Huff (costume design) and Alexandra Beller (choreographer).
The shows will play the Sheen Center (18 Bleecker Street). Performances begin on Thursday, Oct. 30. The Seagull will open officially on Nov. 2nd, with Sense & Sensibility opening Nov. 9.
