News Beechman Theatre to Welcome Burns, D'Abruzzo, Reinders, Pedi, Jibson and More in October Performers from Xanadu, In the Heights, Road Show, Cry-Baby, Rent as well a special presentation of Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens will be seen at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in October.

Rent's Crystal Monee Hall will take to the Beechman stage Oct. 1, while MAC Award winner and former Hedwig Jonathan Whitton presents his cabaret act Something Beautiful Oct. 2 and 9.

The Beechman will host Cabaret Cares, a benefit for Broadway Cares and Help Is On the Way Today, Oct. 5 and 27. Forbidden Broadway's Christiana Bianco will offer encore presentations of her debut show Small Wonders Oct. 8 and 16.

Bill Russell (Side Show) and Janet Hood's AIDS quilt-inspired musical Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens will be presented Oct. 10, 11, 17 and 19.

On Oct. 12, the Beechman presents SAY Something: A Spoken Word Salon. The evening boasts the talents of Emmy winner Marni Nixon, Christine Pedi (Forbidden Broadway, Talk Radio), Phil Geoffrey Bond and Sarah Schulman.

A host of Broadway talent will be part of Living for Today, a benefit concert for the Gilana Shira Alpert Scholarship fund on Oct. 12. Scheduled to appear are Tony nominee Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q), Kate Reinders (Wicked, Gypsy), Carly Jibson (Cry-Baby, Hairspray), Celina Car Vajal (Tarzan), Todd Buonopane (Spelling Bee) and Lucia Spina (Legally Blonde). In the Heights star Andrea Burns will take part in the Beechman's "Voices from the Great White Way" cabaret series Oct. 13.

Singer-songwriter Tina Lear will present an evening of her work, entitled Late Harvest, on Oct. 13. The concert will feature Q. Smith (Les Miserables), Jill Abramovitz (Fame Becomes Me), Weston Wells Olson (Hollywood Bowl’s Les Miserables), Alex Brightman (Glory Days), Natalie Moore and Carey McCray.

The Spotlight Series will offer an evening of dance from upcoming new musicals on Oct. 16. Among the composers represented are Bobby Cronin (Brat Camp), Kirstein Guenther and Joy Sun (Little Miss Fix-It), Jeff Blumenkrantz (Betty Boop), Dave Ogrin (Hell Hole Honeys), Tom Mizer and Curtis Moore (The Legend of Stagecoach Mary), Eli Bolin and Sam Forman (The Big Show), Jeffrey Thomson and Jordan Mann (Jawbreaker), Will Van Dyke, Sammy Buck and Dan Acquisto (The Seven Year B*tch), Ryan Scott Oliver (Darling, Alive at Ten), as well as Brian Lowdermilk and Kait Kerrigan (The Woman Upstairs).

Gypsy’s Alison Fraser will be joined by Xanadu stars Mary Testa and Annie Golden for the songs of Rusty Magee on Oct. 20. Audiences can expect highlights from The Green Heart, The Czar of Rock and Roll and Magee's signature song "New York Romance."

Black Suits composer Joe Iconis will take to the Beechman stage Oct. 26, while upcoming Road Show star Alexander Gemignani offers his own evening of songs Oct. 27.
