Vereen will discuss his career and new album with Tom Santopietro at 5 PM. A signing and performance will follow the talk. The Upper East Side Barnes and Noble is located at 86th Street and Lexington Avenue.
Bob Freed and Rich Bomberowitch produce the album that highlights Vereen's stage career as well as American standards. The 11-track CD was recorded live during Vereen's concert engagement at Hartford Stage in July 2010.
"Steppin' Out Live" will be released Feb. 15 on the Ghostlight Records label. Vereen is also set to perform his solo evening, Steppin' Out With Ben Vereen, at Town Hall Feb. 18.
