Thomas Caruso will direct the play, which will also incorporate historical footage, archived photos and digital projections designed by video artist Morgan Paul Freeman. Zach Spitzer will design lighting.

Abbie is described in press notes as "a politically charged exploration into the life of Abbie Hoffman, the Sixties activist who was a member of the infamous 'Chicago Eight' and known to many as 'The Clown Prince of the Revolution.' This one-man show will give audiences a compelling inside look of what life was like as a leader of the anti-establishment, revealing the emotional stress caused by his underground hiding, the effects of beatings at the hands of hateful police, and other conflicts which eventually overwhelmed him, resulting in his suicide over two decades ago."

Cohen has appeared as an actor in the films "Holy Rollers" and "27 Dresses." He served as Director of Training for the entire New York City school system in the New York City Chancellor's Office, and has also served as an educational consultant for National Geographic, WNET-PBS and many school districts.

The West End Theatre is located at the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew at 263 West 86th Street. For tickets call (212) 868-4444 or visit smarttix.com.
