Peters will be on hand to autograph copies of the new book and will also perform "Stella's Song," which is featured on the audio CD accompanying the book.

Attendees will also have the chance to enter a raffle (tickets are $10); the winner will get to appear onstage with Peters and Mary Tyler Moore along with an adoptable pet at this year's Broadway Barks fundraiser. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit Broadway Barks.

The signing is scheduled for 3-5 PM. Dylan's Candy Bar is located in Manhattan at 1011 3rd Avenue at 60th Street.

The new book features text by Peters and illustrations by Liz Murphy.

"It's about a pit bull, but no one likes her, so she masquerades as a pig of the highest order," Peters recently told Playbill.com. "She calls herself 'Princess Pig,'" Peters said with a laugh. "It's a great story about not judging people from the outside, and not being afraid to accept and love yourself for who you are," Peters added.

Peters' first book "Broadway Barks," which also featured illustrations by Murphy, was released in late April 2008 on the Blue Apple Books label and also included a CD featuring a reading of the story by Peters and a song ("Kramer's Song") penned by the Tony-winning Annie Get Your Gun and Song & Dance star. The charming children's book is the tale of a down-on-his-luck, yet scrappy dog Kramer.

Stella and Kramer are both dogs that were adopted by Peters.

Peters was last on Broadway in the acclaimed revival of Gypsy, for which she received a 2003 Tony Award nomination for her performance as Rose in the Sam Mendes-directed production. She won her two Tonys for her performances in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Song & Dance and Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun, and she has also starred on Broadway in Mack & Mabel, On the Town, Sunday in the Park with George, The Goodbye Girl and the original production of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods. Peters' newest live recording, "Sondheim, Etc., Etc.—Bernadette Peters Live at Carnegie Hall (The Rest of It)," is available on the Angel Records label. Masterworks Broadway has also released a "Legends of Broadway" CD celebrating her theatrical career. Peters' screen credits are numerous.
