An assortment of stage veterans have joined the upcoming Broadway revival of Carousel. Betsy Wolfe, currently starring as Jenna in Waitress, will take on the role of Carrie Pipperidge. Among those appearing alongside her will be Alexander Gemignani (currently appearing as King George in the Chicago engagement of Hamilton) as Enoch Snow and Margaret Colin as Mrs. Mullin.

As previously reported, the spring 2018 production of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein's 1945 musical will star Tony winner Jessie Mueller as Julie Jordan, Tony nominee Joshua Henry as Billy Bigelow, and opera star Renée Fleming as Nettie Fowler, marking her first role in a Broadway musical.

Performances will begin February 28 (instead of the originally reported March 23) at the Imperial Theatre, where Natasha, Pierre, & The Great Comet of 1812 played its final performance September 3. Opening night is set for April 12. Tickets will go on sale September 9.

Jack O'Brien—currently represented on Broadway with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory—will direct the new production. New York City Ballet’s Justin Peck will choreograph; Amar Ramasar and Brittany Pollack (both of the same company) will take on the dance-heavy roles of Jigger and Louise.

Prior to Waitress, Wolfe appeared on Broadway in the 2016 revival of Falsettos, as well as Bullets Over Broadway, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and 110 in the Shade (starring Audra McDonald, who won her first of a record-breaking six Tonys playing Carrie in the most recent Broadway revival of Carousel in 1994).

Gemignani returns to Broadway after a 2015 return engagement as Billy Flynn in Chicago. Additional Broadway credits include Violet, Sunday in the Park with George, Les Misérables, Sweeney Todd, and Assassins.

Colin last appeared on Broadway in The Columnist in 2012. She received a Theatre World Award for her Broadway debut in 1997 as Jacqueline Kennedy in Jackie: An American Life.
