The film, which is described in press notes as "a hilarious story that mixes backstage drama, conservative religious families, coming out, coming to terms, and the occasional tap dancing angel," will make its New York City premiere Sept. 11.

"The Big Gay Musical" features music by Rick Crom and a cast that boasts Liz McCartney, Jim Newman, Joey Dudding, Marty Thomas, Andre Ward, Daniel Robinson, Jeff Metzler, Brian Spitulnik, Josh Cruz, Celina Carvajal, Steve Hayes, Michael Musto and Brent Corrigan.

"Eddie and Paul have just begun previews for the new Off-Broadway musical Adam and Steve Just the Way God Made ‘Em," according to press notes. "When life begins to imitate art. Eddie is dealing with how his sexuality and religious upbringing can mix and Paul is looking for the perfect man. Eddie comes out to his family and Paul goes on Manhunt. Eddie’s parents are destroyed by the news and Paul can’t even have a good one-night stand. But after musical numbers, a cameo by Rick Skye as Liza Minnelli, a retelling of Genesis, tele-evangelists, a camp that attempts to turn gay kids straight, and a bunch of showtunes, everyone realizes that life gets better once they accept who they really are. And they are just the way God made ‘em."

The film is co-produced by Tom D’Angora and Michael Duling.

"The Big Gay Musical" will play Sunday nights at 10:30 PM at The Art House in Provincetown, MA. Tickets for the premiere on Aug. 9 are $12, and $10 for the rest of the run.
