News Big River, Cabaret, Cats, Lobby Hero, Stage Door Among Non-Equity Jeff Award Nominees in Chicago Nominees for the 2011 Non-Equity Jeff Awards were announced April 28 in Chicago, where audiences have, for years, embraced work by both union and non-union professional theatre artists.

The companies that earned the most nominations are Hypocrites (with 14) and Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre in association with Michael James (with 12).

The 2011 Non-Equity Jeff Awards honor excellence in Chicago theatres not under a union contract for productions that opened between April 1, 2010, and March 31, 2011. The 38th Anniversary Non-Equity Jeff Awards Ceremony will be held on June 6 at the Park West, 322 W. Armitage, Chicago, IL.

The Equity Jeff Awards will be announced later in the year; that ceremony is in the fall.
