News Blink...and You Missed It!, Tribute to Short-Lived Musicals, to Play London's Fringe Blink...and You Missed It!, a new musical revue featuring songs from short-lived tuners, will begin previews at London's fringe Above the Stag Theatre July 14 (prior to an official opening July 15), for a run to Aug. 16.

According to press materials, the show is a "tribute to the host of musical gems which are hiding in the shows that closed before you could catch them. It features songs from such short-lived London musicals as Matador, Oscar, Children of Eden and Metropolis, as well as Broadway musicals that only had short runs here, including The Rink, The Drowsy Chaperone, Ragtime, City of Angels, Merrily We Roll Along and Victor/Victoria (the latter only produced on the London fringe), and others that have never been seen in the West End, like The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Act, Ballroom!, Steel Pier and Side Show. There are also songs from a musical version of The Silence of the Lambs that never made it to opening night."

Blink is devised and directed by Peter Bull and Tim McArthur. The latter also provides the musical staging and appears in the company that comprises Julia G. Addison, Alexander Bradford, Nikki Gerard and Elena Rossi. The musical director is Debbie Morris, the designer Prav Menon-Johansson, and the lighting designer is Howard Hudson.

Bull is artistic director of the Above the Stag Theatre. His London fringe productions include Vinegar Tom, Dangerous, Taken In, Extra Virgin, Boys' Play, Strawberry Daiquiri, The Choir, American Briefs and Seduction. In the U.S., he has directed productions for the Players Theatre New York, Spiral Theatre Milwaukee and Bailiwick Repertory Chicago and worked with Mark Hooker on the infamous Milwaukee production of Naked Boys Singing!. He is associate producer of SHOUT! The Swinging 60's Musical (West End, U.K. tour, U.S. tour).

McArthur's previous directorial credits include Casanova, Coloured Lights, Obama On My Mind, Seductio, Hello Jerry, Merman at the Jermyn, Jack the Ripper, Silver Heaven, Sex, Love & Retro-Femininity. As an actor and singer he recently appeared as Susannah in Cinderella at Radlett Arts Centre, was a soloist in Coloured Lights at Jermyn Street Theatre and Greenwich Playhouse and played John Prescott in Blair on Broadway (Arts Theatre).
