Actor-playwright Eric Bogosian's play, Red Angel, will end its run at the Williamstown Theatre Festival on Aug. 4. The show commenced July 24.
Bogosian stars in the drama as well. Obviously, Bogosian is no stranger to performing his own material. But prior to this, he's exclusively played in his one-man performance pieces such as Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll and Drinking in America, as well as the play Talk Radio. Since he's come to concentrate of more traditional playwriting efforts, he's been content to let other actors do the performing while he stays behind the scenes, shouldering the scripting duties.
Bogosian will play David in The Red Angel. This drama appears to venture into Oleanna territory with its look at a university professor's "psycho-sexual" standoff with an alluring student.
Also in the cast are Dagmara Dominczyk, Sarah Hudnut and Nathan Corddry. Neil Pepe of New York's Atlantic Theatre Company, directs.
Bogosian recently had another world premiere, when Humpty Dumpty debuted at the McCarter Theatre Company. For ticket information, call (413) 597-3400.
