A spokesperson for the musical confirmed that Bokhour will succeed Kevin Chamberlin as put-upon husband Amos Hart in the Broadway company of the Tony-winning revival.

He will join a cast that currently includes Bianca Marroquin as Roxie Hart, Brenda Braxton as Velma Kelly, Tom Wopat as Billy Flynn and Carol Woods as Matron "Mama" Morton.

Ray Bokhour made his Broadway debut in Chicago as Amos, a role he also played in the tour of the Kander and Ebb musical. His other theatrical credits include Rameau's Nephew, King Lear, Road to Nirvana, Moliere's Shorts, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Much Ado About Nothing and The Lesson. On screen Bokhour has been seen in "Man on the Moon," "Hitman's Journal," "Personals," "Ali," Changing Lanes," "I'm With Lucy," "Ed," "The Job," "Third Watch" and "The Indiana Jones Chronicles."

Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.

The long-running musical will celebrate its 12th anniversary and its 5,000th performance on Broadway Nov. 14.

Chicago plays the Ambassador Theatre, located at 215 West 49th Street.
