The semi-annual BC/EFA fundraiser is taking a different approach this summer, by having Broadway stars tell a story about their own high school musical and perform a song from that show.
Created by Mamma Mia! cast member Gerard Salvador and two-time MAC Award winner Amy Wolk, Friends With Benefits will begin at 7 PM. Nate Buccieri will serve as music director.
In addition to James (Book of Mormon), Huffman (The Producers) and de Jesus (La Cage aux Folles), the evening will also feature Rose Hemingway (How to Succeed…), T. Oliver Reid (Mary Poppins), Stacia Fernandez (Mamma Mia!), Jennifer McGill ("The Mickey Mouse Club"), Ellen Harvey (How To Succeed…), Raymond J. Lee (Anything Goes), Jared Gertner (The Book of Mormon), Kristen Beth Williams (Anything Goes), Nicholas Cunningham (La Cage), Randy Rainbow, Kimberly Faure (Anything Goes), Corey Greenan (Mamma Mia!), Carmen Keels (In My Life), Brent Black (Mamma Mia!) and Kevin Munhall (Anything Goes).
The Metropolitan Room is located in Manhattan at 34 West 22nd Street. There is a $20 cover charge and a two-drink minimum; call (212) 206-0440 for reservations.
