BEMF produces a concert series as well as a biennial festival and exhibition, which this year featured the staged premiere of Boris Goudenow, a 1710 opera by Johann Mattheson. The group's recording of Johann Georg Conradi's Ariadne, the centerpiece of the 2003 festival, spent time on the Billboard classical chart this year and was recently nominated for a Grammy Award.
Lileana Blain-Cruz directs the new production, opening April 23.
The Cuban-born composer is this season's Debs Composer's Chair.
The cast is led by Bryonha Marie and Nathan Gunn, with Tony winner Ted Sperling at the baton.
The season, opening September 21, will include 58 ballets across 21 weeks of performances.
