News Boston Spelling Bee Cast Members Will Sing "Like Grownups" Dec. 19 Stars from the current Boston cast of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will perform "Singing Like Grownups," a cabaret benefit slated for Dec. 19.

Janet Roma will accompany the singers on piano for the event, which will play the Club Cafe in Boston at 10:30 PM. Proceeds from the evening will go to the Greater Boston Food Bank.

"Singing Like Grownups" will feature "a variety of contemporary musical theatre songs with titles by Jason Robert Brown, Andrew Byrne, Ahrens and Flaherty, Jonathan Larson, mixed with an original composition and a few folk and pop/rock songs!"

Among the titles slated to be performed are "The Opening: Songs for a New World," "Caldonia" from Five Guys Named Moe, "Miss Byrd," "World's Apart" from Big River, "I'll Cover You" from Rent and "Nice" from Lucky Stiff and more.

The cast, featuring Spelling Bee stars, includes Stanley Bahorek, Jenni Barber, Jared Gertner, George Huckins, James Monroe Iglehart, Sara Inbar, Daniel Pearce, Betsy Wolfe, Elsa Carmona, Evan D'Angeles and Matt Wilson.

"Singing Like Grownups" will play at Club Cafe, located at 209 Columbus Ave. in Boston's South End. The suggested minimum donation — to be collected during the performance — is $10.
