Classic Arts News Boston Symphony Musicians to Play Tsunami Benefit on January 30 Musicians from the Boston Symphony, led by Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart, will play a concert to benefit tsunami relief efforts on January 30 at Symphony Hall, the BSO announced.
The concert will also include members of Boston's Lydian Quartet and Muir Quartet, as well as performers from New England Conservatory, Boston University, Brandeis University, and other local institutions.

The chamber orchestra formed by the players has been named the Caritas Ensemble, after the Latin word for charity.

The BSO has donated the use of Symphony Hall for the event. Proceeds will go to the AmeriCares Tsunami Relief Fund. Tickets are $45-$55.

The concert will be broadcast live on Boston's WCRB, 102.9 FM.
