The chamber orchestra formed by the players has been named the Caritas Ensemble, after the Latin word for charity.
The BSO has donated the use of Symphony Hall for the event. Proceeds will go to the AmeriCares Tsunami Relief Fund. Tickets are $45-$55.
The concert will be broadcast live on Boston's WCRB, 102.9 FM.
Lileana Blain-Cruz directs the new production, opening April 23.
