News Boy From Oz Director Will Style Houston Hair Sept. 9-26 Philip Wm. McKinley, director of Broadway's The Boy From Oz, will stage Theatre Under the Stars' new production of the rock musical Hair for a Sept. 9-26 run in Houston.

In addition to the so-called "tribal love rock musical" that celebrates free love, free living and an end to war, TUTS will present a 2004-05 season that includes A Chorus Line (Oct. 20-Nov. 7), Singin' in the Rain (Dec. 2-19), Anything Goes (Jan. 27-Feb. 13, 2005), The King and I starring Stefanie Powers (March 17-April 3, 2005), and Peter Pan starring Cathy Rigby (May 5-22, 2005). McKinley directed Off-Broadway's Thwak (it received the 1999 Drama Desk nomination for Unique Theatrical Event) and Zombie Prom. At North Shore Music Theatre in Massachusetts he directed a 30th anniversary production of Hair. He also directed the 1997 revival of the Kopit/Yeston Phantom for producer Frank Young and Theatre Under the Stars in Houston.

TUTS presents a season that includes shows specifically produced for Houston and engagements of national tours (such as Peter Pan and The King and I). Productions are at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.
