News   Brad Oscar Takes Center Ring in Barnum for Maltz Jupiter Theatre in 2009
Tony-nominated Producers veteran Brad Oscar will reprise his work as legendary circus showman P.T. Barnum in the Cy Coleman musical Barnum, which begins performances at Florida's Maltz Jupiter Theatre Jan. 6, 2009.

Gordon Greenberg (Jacques Brel, The Baker's Wife) directs the production with choreography by Joshua Rhodes and music direction by Helen Gregory. Barnum will run through Jan. 25, 2009. The musical arrives in Jupiter following an engagement at the Asolo Repertory Theatre in November.

"I have always been a great fan of Brad Oscar—both as a person and a performer. He was the first person that came to mind in casting the role of P.T. Barnum. We are so fortunate to be able to explore the show anew with such a profoundly talented actor. In many ways, Brad embodies the spirit of Barnum, a born showman with a rich imagination and a keen sense of the public's taste," said Greenberg in a statement.

Joining Oscar onstage will be Misty Cotton as Charity Barnum, Kevin Kraft as Ringmaster, Debra Walton as Joice Heth, Nathaniel Braga as Tom Thumb, Renee Brna as Jenny Lind, Matt Baker as Dream Barnum, Jessica Green as Dream Charity, Amy Shure as Dream Jenny and Debra Walton as Blues Singer.

The Barnum ensemble comprises Matt Baker, Deanna Dys, Jessica Green Freddie Kimmel, Alfie Parker, Jr., Amy Shure, Emily K. Bottorff, William Cortez-Statham, Alice Eacho and Dean-Carlo Grant.

Barnum has scenic design by Michael Schweikardt, costume design by Alejo Vietti and lighting design by Traci Klainer. Barnum features music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by Michael Stewart and a book by Mark Bramble. The score to the Tony-nominated musical includes "The Colors of My Life," "There's a Sucker Born Ev'ry Minute," "Love Makes Such Fools of Us All" and "Join the Circus."
