Helmed by playwright Monokian and assistant director Christine Bennett, Calafiore (My Big Gay Italian Wedding, The Vagina Monologues) will be joined by Daria Feneis, Andrew Pace, Gina Chedid and Gillian Holmes.
Here's how the play is billed: "A modern, gritty riff on the Brother's Grimm fairy tales, Grimm Women examines the classic tales and their characters, while exploring what happens after 'happily ever after.' These fairy-tales-gone-wild feature a pot smoking Little Red (Calafiore), a Rapunzel with the longest weave in the land, and a boy kissing frogs trying to find a prince."
Grimm Women debuted in December 2012 at the Kraine Theatre in NYC and was followed by an April-May 2013 run at the Adrienne Theater in Philadelphia. Calafiore has been with Grimm Women since its first reading in 2012.
Monokian is also the author of echo, narcissus, narcissus, echo, which recently had a reading, starring Christian Coulson ("Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets"), produced by Your Name Here: A Queer Theatre Company.
