News Bravo's "Inside The Actors Studio" Moves to New Downtown Home at Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts Bravo's Emmy Award-nominated series "Inside the Actors Studio," hosted and created by James Lipton, will now call Pace University's downtown Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts home, the producers of the show announced Sept. 6.

Nominated for two 2005 Emmy Awards, one for "Outstanding Non-Fiction series" and one as "Outstanding Non-Fiction Special" (for its 10th anniversary special), "Inside" is the longest-running original series on the cable network. The show features host Lipton interviewing actors, writers and directors in front of an audience filled with theatre students.

The show formerly ran at The New School University's Actors Studio Drama School — where Lipton served as dean. The upcoming 12th season will tape later this fall from the Lower Manhattan venue which is part of Pace's downtown campus. Guests are to be announced.

“We are thrilled that ‘Inside the Actors Studio’ will have a 12th season on Bravo,” said The Actors Studio co-chair Ellen Burstyn who was onhand for the announcement made at a news conference at the Pace space. Also present was David A. Caputo, president of Pace University.

"For those of us who have shared the show’s exciting journey, this is a dream come true," said Lipton. Caputo added, "This program is not only outstanding television but a true craft seminar in theatre. These seminars with leading professionals represent yet another chance for Pace students to enrich their learning with the cultural opportunities of New York."
