Singer-actor Brent Barrett will release a new solo CD on the Fynsworth Alley label this fall.

Barrett, who is currently starring in the London production of Kiss Me, Kate, has recorded an all-Alan Jay Lerner album for the label. Simply titled "The Alan Jay Lerner Album," Barrett's recording features songs by the late lyricist of Brigadoon, Love Life, Paint Your Wagon, My Fair Lady, Camelot, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, Gigi and Dance a Little Closer. The single CD is due out this fall, although no official date has been announced.

Barrett's first solo recording (on the Varèse Sarabande label), "The Kander & Ebb Album," is also available from Fynsworth Alley and includes such tunes as "Life Is," "Sometimes a Day Goes By," "All That Jazz," "All I Care About," "Give Me Love" and "A Quiet Thing." Ruthie Henshall and Jane Krakowski join Barrett on tracks of, respectively, "Why Should I Wake Up?" and "Wet."

Barrett received an Olivier Award nomination for his role in the London company of Kiss Me, Kate, and he will continue in that Cole Porter classic through August 24. His other theatrical credits include the Broadway productions of Chicago, Annie Get Your Gun and Candide. He received a Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for his work in the L.A. production of Chicago and has been seen Off-Broadway in Closer Than Ever, March of the Falsettos, The Death of Von Richtofen, The Time of the Cuckoo and Portrait of Jenny. His television and film appearances include "Hercules," "Longtime Companion," "All My Children," "Another World" and "Guiding Light."
