News Brian F. O'Byrne Is bedbound in American Premiere at Irish Rep Jan. 17-March 2 Tony nominee Brian F. O'Byrne (The Beauty Queen of Leenane) stars in the American premiere of Edna Walsh's bedbound at Irish Repertory Theatre, playing Jan. 17-March 2, 2003.

In bedbound, O'Byrne portrays the morally bankrupt father of a sick girl, whose dedication to success once resulted in murder. He had been grooming his daughter to follow in his footsteps, but polio destroys that dream. The drama, to be directed by Walsh (Disco Pigs, Misterman), is told entirely through monologues. Jenna Lamia is Daughter. Her credits include Ah, Wilderness! at Lincoln Center and The Glory of Living, directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Designing the show are Klara Zieglerova (sets), Robert-Charles Vallance (hair), Kirk Bookman (lighting) and Zachary Williamson (sound).

The opening night of bedbound is Jan. 23. The Irish Repertory Theatre is located at 132 W. 22nd Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. For ticket information, call (212) 727-2737. Irish Repertory Theatre is on the web at http://www.irishrep.org.
