News Brian Stokes Mitchell Lands Recurring Role in New TV Series Tony winner Brian Stokes Mitchell, most recently on Broadway in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, has landed a recurring role on the new USA series "Mr. Robot," according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Sakina Jaffrey will also recur on the new series, which will make its debut on the cable network June 24 at 10 PM ET.

"Mr. Robot," according to the industry paper, "centers on a young programmer, Elliot (Rami Malek), who suffers from an antisocial disorder and can only connect with people by hacking them. A mysterious anarchist named Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) recruits Elliot into 'fsociety,' an underground hacker group determined to bring down corporate America."

Mitchell has been cast in the role of Scott Knowles, husband of Sharon, played by actress Michele Hicks. He is a rival to the character Tyrell Wellick, played by Martin Wallstrom.

The script was penned by Sam Esmail.

Mitchell won his Tony Award for his performance in Kiss Me, Kate.
