Mitchell won the Tony Award for his performance in Kiss Me, Kate and was nominated for his work in Man of La Mancha, Ragtime and August Wilson's King Hedley II. His most recent appearance on Broadway was in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. He is also a sought-after concert singer.
