Following a profile on CBS News Sunday Morning March 28, Sarah Jones' new Off Broadway solo show bridge and tunnel broke box office records at the 45 Bleecker Street Theater in single day sales, raking in almost $65,000 in tickets.

The show, which has been generating buzz of a Broadway transfer since it opened to positive critical and audience response, began previews Feb. 6 and opened Feb. 19 Off-Broadway.

Tony Taccone (Continental Divide) directs the latest one-woman work from the writer-performer of Surface Transit.

bridge and tunnel once again plays to Jones' chameleon-like talents as she tackles ten characters including a Pakistani accountant, a Chinese mother and a young Latina in an evening set at a community poetry show. The characters explore issues of assimilation in modern urban America, putting the New York melting pot to the test.

Alexander V. Nichols provides set and lighting design for bridge and tunnel. Jones has penned and performed works including Waking the American Dream, Women Can't Wait and Surface Transit. The actress also appeared in the Spike Lee film "Bamboozled" and Off-Broadway in Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues. As a poet, Jones has performed on HBO's "Def Poetry Jam."
