The Magic Mike musical has canceled its scheduled world premiere in Boston. The show was to begin at Emerson Colonial Theatre November 30. No word yet if the musical will move forward with its Broadway intentions.

As previously reported, a lab presentation, which was to take place earlier this month, was postponed after a number of creatives departed the project after artistic differences. The show was originally slated to feature a score by Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt and a book by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

The musical, inspired by the Channing Tatum-led franchise, has been in development for seven years; Tatum and a number of his collaborators on the films (including director Steven Soderbergh) are attached as producers.

Ticketholders for the Boston engagement will be contacted regarding refunds.
