Kristin Chenoweth, only recently crowned theatre royalty through her Tony-winning portrayal of Sally Brown in the Broadway revival of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, has take a role in a television sitcom. Chenoweth will star in an as-yet-unnamed, half-hour comedy created by Jon Markus, according to Variety. NBC has ordered 13 episodes of the show from Paramount Network Television. Chenoweth is currently starring in Broadway in Epic Proportions. Her quick rise to theatre stardom has included roles in Steel Pier and Scapin. On Nov. 7, she appeared as Lily St. Regis in the Disney television movie of the musical Annie.

In her new sitcom, Chenoweth will play -- and there's an irony here -- "a young woman who takes a job as an executive assistant after two years of unsuccessfully pursuing her Broadway dreams."
