The weekend of concerts begins at 8 PM with Broadway Melody Makers. The concert, which will feature hummable Broadway tunes written by Jerome Kern, George Gershwin, Richard Rodgers, Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Irving Berlin, Jule Styne and Cy Coleman, boasts the talents of Tony winners Judy Kaye, Alice Ripley and Michael Cerveris as well as Mary Testa, Tom Wopat and Nellie McKay. Scott Coulter directs with musical direction by Ross Patterson.
Tony Award winner Betty Buckley will take centerstage Oct. 16 at 8 PM for a solo concert. She will be accompanied by Clifford Carter on piano, Tony Marino on bass, Steve Cardenas on guitar and Anthony Pinciotti on drums. The Cats and Sunset Boulevard star will include songs from her celebrated stage and recording career as well as selections from her brand-new recording, "Bootleg: Boardmixes from the Road," which will be available for sale in the lobby.
The series will conclude Oct. 17 at 3 PM with Broadway Originals. Nearly 20 artists — including Seesaw's Michele Lee (who will also direct), Christiane Noll (Ragtime), Stephanie D'Abruzzo and John Tartaglia (Avenue Q), Maureen Silliman (Shenandoah), Crista Moore (Big, Gypsy), Jo Sullivan Loesser (The Most Happy Fella), Lucie Arnaz (They’re Playing Our Song), Sarah Uriarte Berry (A Light in the Piazza), Carole Demas (Grease), Loni Ackerman (So Long, 174th Street) and Nancy Opel (Urinetown) — will come together to revisit the songs that they made famous on the Broadway stage.
