It's a holiday tradition as inviolate as the turkey dinner. The morning of November 23 belongs to Macy*s and its 74th annual Thanksgiving Day Parade. Besides the classic Bandleader Mickey Mouse and Snoopy balloons, and the standard Radio City Rockettes®, this year's festivities will include selections from four Broadway shows.
After performing at last year's parade, Swing! will return for the fun again this year. The Music Man was highlighted at the Macy’s Fireworks festivities at this year's Fourth of July celebration and will again lend a hand and a tune to their Macy's friends this Thanksgiving. The new guns in town of Annie Get Your Gun will also perform, and fans can catch a sneak peek of the new Broadway musical Seussical lets 'The Cat' out of the bag.
Also joining the hosts Katie Couric, Matt Lauer, and Al Roker of the "Today" Show will be a cornucopia of pop songsters, TV stars and Broadway's original Annie Andrea McArdle and her daughter Alexis Kalehoff.
The parade begins at 77th Street and Central Park West of Manhattan's Upper West Side. It will then make its way down Broadway through Times Square before taking final bows at Herald Square and ending at 7th Ave and 34th Street.
