News Broadway Musical Stars and Creators to Sign "Avenue Q: The Book" in NYC Avenue Q stars and creators will appear at a Dec. 13 signing of the new "Avenue Q: The Book" in New York City.

In addition to interviews with show creators about how the show came to its current success, the publication also features an illustrated script of the show as well as cut scenes and "educational activities," including "Help Princeton Find His Purpose!" Maze, the "Are You A Homowhatever?" Quiz, the "Where's Lucy the Slut" Exercise and the "How Much Do the People in Your Neighborhood Make?" Connect-the-Dot.

"Avenue Q: The Book" also features exclusive interviews with the cast, original color illustrations, and the lyrics to such songs as "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist" and "It Sucks to Be Me."

On Broadway, Avenue Q began previews July 11, 2003, and opened July 31 at the John Golden to positive critical and audience response. The show's creators, Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, earned a Tony for their score as did book writer Jeff Whitty, and the musical itself garnered the top Best Musical prize at the 2004 Tony Awards. Jason Moore (Steel Magnolias) directed with musical direction by Gary Adler (Altar Boyz). Avenue Q sends up popular children's television shows such as "Sesame Street" and "The Electric Company," while serving up a bounty of pop culture references and solving the mystery of the whereabouts of former "Diff'rent Strokes" child star Gary Coleman. The production bears the warning: "Full puppet nudity, not suitable for children."
