According to press notes, "Under Broadway Worldwide’s DIRECT FROM BROADWAY® brand, which has previously captured such Broadway hits as the 2010 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Memphis, the joint venture BWEM will finance, produce and distribute two to four Broadway musicals captured live-in-performance in HD every year."

In the US, BWEM will develop a licensing arm to distribute certain titles to various theaters, universities and equipped performing arts centers.

Broadway Worldwide, Inc. (BWI) is the industry leader in capturing Broadway musicals for multi-media HD distribution and Sun New Light Culture Development Limited (SNL), a part of Sun Seven Stars Entertainment Media Group, is one of the premier organizers in China for live shows and large-scale activities.

Sun New Light will oversee Asian distribution, international distributors will be determined shortly.

In a statement, Wu said, "in addition to thousands of ‘Big Screens,’ the digital distribution channels will reach consumers in a timely, relevant, personal, and cost-effective manner. Think of this as a Netflix® like service just for Broadway content syndicated through digital cable, OTT, and mobile applications.”
