News Broadway Stars to Honor Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman at Primary Stages Gala Off-Broadway's Primary Stages has announced that its annual gala will honor Tony and Grammy-winning songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, the talented duo behind Hairspray. Christian Borle, Nathan Lane, Annie Golden, Bridget Everett and Aaron Tveit are among those slated to perform at the Nov. 16 event.

The gala will take place at 583 Park Ave., Manhattan. The evening will feature musical numbers from Hairspray, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Catch Me If You Can and the TV series "Smash."

"We are thrilled to be honoring Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman for our 2015 Annual Gala. Marc and Scott are true innovators and their body of work speaks directly to our commitment to developing new works," commented Primary Stages artistic director Andrew Leynse in a press statement. "This year's gala will prove to be a 'must-see' evening featuring icons from stage, film and TV."
