"Broadway Workshop" of Musical Traps! on PBS's "EGG" Season Finale, April 25

News   "Broadway Workshop" of Musical Traps! on PBS's "EGG" Season Finale, April 25
The season finale for Thirteen/WNET New York's "EGG the arts show" will focus on the process of making the musical Traps! The final episode, titled "Broadway Workshop," is set to air April 25 on PBS at 10 PM. (Check local listings).

The episode was previously announced for April 18, but has been postponed. (Some PBS markets outside New York may still run the season finale.) In New York, the broadcast has been replaced by a repeat of "The Spencer Kayden Show" EGG episode featuring the title actress of Broadway's Urinetown.

"We documented the making of a Broadway workshop," EGG executive producer Jeff Folmsbee explained to Playbill On-Line about what he calls an "immersion documentary." The half-hour national television series, which showcases the diversity of art across America, will focus on what Folmsbee called, "a backer's audition where you present it to people with money, hoping they will finance a real production."

Among the artists involved in "Broadway Workshop" are Amy Spanger (Kiss Me, Kate), Alan Thicke (Chicago, TV's "Growing Pains"), Spencer Kayden (Urinetown), director Gabriel Barre (Summer of '42, The Wild Party), composer Doug Katsaros (Moby Dick, The Life), choreographer Wayne Cilento (Aida, Dream), Corinne McFadden (Aida) and dancers Shannon Lewis (Contact, Fosse), Kenya Unique Massey (Aida), Jim Borstelmann (The Producers), Mike Arnold and Luis Salgado.

"EGG the arts show" is brought to you by executive producer Jeff Folmsbee and series producer Mark Mannucci. Kathy Egan produces the "Broadway Workshop" episode based on footage produced and directed by Mannucci.
