News Broadway's Kinky Boots Celebrates Milestone Performance Tonight The Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots, which plays the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, celebrates its 500th performance June 19.

Fans were previously invited to win tickets to the 500th performance "by using a Do-It-Yourself Kinky Boots Card to add the show's iconic red boots to their photos, and sharing those photos online using hashtag #Kinky500."

With a Tony Award-winning score by Cyndi Lauper, a book by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein and direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell, Kinky Boots opened on April 4, 2013. The show recouped its costs in October 2013, after 30 weeks on Broadway.

Kinky Boots took home six 2013 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score (Cyndi Lauper), Best Choreography (Jerry Mitchell), Best Actor (Billy Porter), Best Orchestrations (Stephen Oremus) and Best Sound Design (John Shivers). The show also received the Grammy Award for Best Musical Album.

The current cast includes Tony Award winner Billy Porter, Andy Kelso, Jeanna de Waal, Daniel Stewart Sherman, Cortney Wolfson, Marcus Neville, Paul Canaan, Kevin Smith Kirkwood, Kyle Taylor Parker, Kyle Post, Charlie Sutton, Joey Taranto, Adinah Alexander, Douglas Baldeo, Eugene Barry-Hill, Stephen Berger, Cameron Colley, Lauren Nicole Chapman, Sandra DeNise, Anna Eilinsfeld, Natalie Joy Johnson, D’Andre Lee, Eric Leviton, John Jeffrey Martin, Abby Mueller, Jake Odmark, Nathan Peck, Robert Pendilla, Jennifer Perry, Stephen Tewksbury, Nicky Torchia and Timothy Ware.

In Kinky Boots, press notes state, "Charlie Price (Kelso) has reluctantly inherited his father’s shoe factory, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Trying to live up to his father’s legacy and save his family business, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola (Porter). A fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos, Lola turns out to be the one person who can help Charlie become the man he’s meant to be. As they work to turn the factory around, this unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible… and discovers that when you change your mind about someone, you can change your whole world."
