News Broadway's Mamma Mia! Turns 500 Dec. 29 Broadway's Mamma Mia! celebrates its 500th performance at the Cadillac Winter Garden Theatre Dec. 29.

Mamma Mia! completed their first year on Broadway Oct. 18. Louise Pitre, who received a Tony nomination for her work in the show, continues to star as Donna, the confused mother of young Sophie (played by Tina Maddigan, who created the role in Toronto and on Broadway), who is confronted by the three men who might be her daughter's father at Sophie's wedding.

The musical comedy is crafted around the music of Swedish 70's supergroup, ABBA. Top pop hits featured in the score include "Dancing Queen," "Supertrooper," "Knowing Me, Knowing You," "Take a Chance on Me," "The Winner Takes It All," "Does Your Mother Know" and the title tune.
