News Brustein, Foreman, Kalb Talk Suzan-Lori Parks April 30 The Department of Theatre at Hunter College of New York City's CUNY system will hold a symposium on the work of Suzan-Lori Parks, 3-7 PM April 30 at Lang Recital Hall, Hunter North, Room 424.

The event, titled "Remarks on Parks," will begin with a 3-4:45 panel featuring Robert Brustein (Harvard University, American Repertory Theatre), Alisa Solomon (Baruch College, The Village Voice), Marc Robinson (Yale School of Drama) and Shawn-Marie Garrett (Barnard College). Jonathan Kalb, the Hunter professor and former New York Press critic, will moderate. Admission is free. After a break, the day resumes with another panel, from 5:15 PM to 7 PM. This one will include director Richard Foreman (who staged the world premiere of Parks' Venus), director Liz Diamond (Parks' The America Play and Imperceptible Mutabilities of the Third Kingdom) and director Leah Gardiner (the Philadelphia premiere of Parks' Top Dog/Underdog).

The symposium was organized in conjunction with the Hunter Theatre Department's production of Suzan-Lori Parks' Venus, directed by Bill Walters. It will run April 27-May 9.
